چکیده

Objectives To correlate the level of fibrocytes in peripheral blood, synovial tissue and vitro culture rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with changes disease activity, imaging pulmonary function. Methods Twenty patients early RA (ERA) 20 long-standing (LRA) were enrolled a 6-month prospective study. Sixteen undergoing wrist arthroscopy healthy controls. Patients underwent function tests, ultrasound ultrasound-guided needle biopsy same at baseline 6 months. Wrist MRI was performed (all) months (ERA). Circulating measured by flow cytometry, number monocytes that differentiated to biopsies counting histological sections. Results Fibrocytes primarily located around vessels subintimal area synovium. Fibrocyte levels did not decline during trial despite effective treatment. In ERA group, increased synovitis assessed moderate strongly correlated an increase circulating fibrocyte levels, respectively. Increased group moderately both numbers cultured fibrocytes. Absolute diffusion capacity overall weakly negatively The Conclusion Our findings suggest are involved pathogenesis, synovium reduction lung seen part RA. Trial registration NCT02652299 .

Comparative Measurement of Rheumatoid Factor in Serum and Synovial Fluid of Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients by ELISA and Latex-Agglutination Test

Rheumatoid factors (RF) are autoantibodies with specificity for the Fc portion of human IgG. Production of RF is a characteristic feature of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and is detectable in high titer in about 90% of these patients. In this study, we measured total IgM, IgA, IgMRF and IgARF in serum and synovial fluid of 45 RA patients by ELISA and the results were compared with those obtained b...

Bilateral Synovial Knee Chondromatosis in a Patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis: Case-report and Literature Review

We presented a female patient with RA complaining of progressive pain, swelling, and crepitation of the knee joints that was diagnosed with bilateral synovial chondromatosis (SC) of both knees. Radiographies revealed characteristic findings of SC including multiple calcified multifaceted loose bodies within both knees. Removal of cartilaginous segments as well as total synovectomy was performed...

Rheumatoid Arthritis: Early diagnosis and treatment outcomes

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory progressive disease which in the absence of appropriate treatment can lead to joint destruction and disability. Prognosis of RA may be predicted based on the presence of some clinical and laboratory evidences.New criteria for classification of RA provides opportunity for earlier treatment. Initiation of treatment particularly by combination of DMARDs...

Early detection of rheumatoid arthritis in rats and humans with 99mTc-3PRGD2 scintigraphy: imaging synovial neoangiogenesis

OBJECTIVES To validate 99mTc-labeled arginylglycylaspartic acid (99mTc-3PRGD2) scintigraphy as a means to image synovial neoangiogenesis in joints afflicted by rheumatoid arthritis and to investigate its potential in the early detection and management of rheumatoid arthritis. METHODS Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis were generated in Sprague Dawley rats by type II collagen immunization...

Correlation between endothelial function and carotid atherosclerosis in rheumatoid arthritis patients with long-standing disease

INTRODUCTION In this study, we aimed to determine the relationship between flow-mediated endothelium-dependent vasodilatation (FMD) and carotid artery intima-media wall thickness (IMT), two surrogate markers of atherosclerosis, in a series of Spanish patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) without clinically evident cardiovascular (CV) disease. METHODS One hundred eighteen patients who fulfil...
